Our homes

Our homes, which we like to call Nests

We are developing solo and dual children’s homes across the North West, with an initial focus on Cheshire East and South Manchester. Our homes will offer care for one or two children, creating space for individual support and everyday life together.

Planned carefully, shown honestly

We’re at the beginning of this journey, and choosing the right houses matters. Each property will be carefully selected for the needs it can meet, its surroundings and the opportunities available nearby, from schools and activities to green spaces and community connections.

No Nestra home is open yet. When each home is ready and registered, it will appear here, described by broad area only.

Thoughtfully designed for everyday life

We want children to walk through the door and find a home that feels comfortable, welcoming and theirs. Somewhere to cook together, relax on the sofa, have friends visit and enjoy a bedroom they can make their own.

Decoration, furniture and layout will be chosen with care, giving children the best possible environment to settle and thrive. Safety will be built into each home’s design, alongside comfort, privacy and room for different needs.

Part of the neighbourhood

We want our homes to have the familiar, personal feel people associate with family and foster care. Children should feel that they live in a house on a street or within a village or town, with neighbours and a community they can get to know.

We will work openly with our neighbours and local communities to build positive relationships and challenge assumptions about children’s homes. Above all, we want children to feel welcome where they live and able to take part in ordinary community life.

As our homes develop, we’ll share more about the areas they are in, the care they will offer and when they will be ready to welcome children.

Inside a Nestra home

What every home includes

However different each house is, every home will offer the same foundations: a private bedroom for every child, warm shared spaces, a kitchen at the heart of the home, outdoor space, and staff areas kept low key so the house still feels like a house.

Statement of Purpose

The full picture, in writing

Each home will have a Statement of Purpose describing exactly who it is for, how it is staffed and how care is delivered. Placing authorities will be able to request it at any time.
